The present invention is a stackable chair which can be mounted to identical chairs in an aligned side to side fashion. The chair has a seat having opposite first and second side edges, a frame supporting the seat, and a plurality of legs supporting the frame. A first mounting element is movably mounted to the frame below the first side edge of the seat. The firs t mounting element is movable between an extended position wherein the first mounting element extends away from the seat beyond the first side edge, and a retracted position wherein the first mounting element does not extend beyond the first side edge. A second mounting element is movably mounted to the frame below the second side edge of the seat. The second mounting elemen t is movable between an extended position wherein the second mounting element extends awa y from the seat beyond the second side edge, and a retracted position wherein the second mounting element does not extend beyond the second side edge. The first and second mounting elemen ts are dimensioned and configured to releasably mount to one another when the first and second mounting elements are in their extended positions, respectively, such that a plurality of said chairs can be mounted to one another in side to side fashion with the first mounting element of one chairmounting to the second mounting element of the chair immediately adjacent thereto.
