The control strategy involves detecting of a steady state signal (9), and generating a desired value signal (21) under an influence of the steady state signal. A decision signal (28) is generated under the influence of the steady state signal and the desired value signal for activating a fuel spray-type desuperheater (8). A reset signal (29) is generated under influence of the decision signal, in order to keep activated the fuel spray-type desuperheater. An error signal (31) is generated for the fuel spray-type desuperheater under influence of the decision signal and the reset signal.
