Clearance (s) is measured continuously or periodically between a rotor's reference surface (4) and a casing's (3) reference surface (5). When measured, the clearance is compared with a preset limiting value. A signal is given off if the measured clearance is greater than the preset limiting value. An independent claim is also included for a compressor or pump, especially a worm/screw compressor, with a rotor. |
