There is provided an optical module in which electrical wirings in a module package are simplified without increasing a manufacturing cost. A light emitting element (2,7) is mounted on a substrate (4,8) having electrical wirings (41,81) therein. In the substrate (4,8), electrodes (42,43;82,83) connected to the electrical wirings (41,81) are formed at a side where the light emitting element (2,7) is mounted. The light emitting element (2,7) and the electrodes (42,43;82,83) are wire-bonded to each other and the leads and electrodes placed at the other ends of the wirings are wire-bonded to each other. |
