Sliding bearing production involves applying a lead free solder material (15) on a pivoted metal body (12). The metal body is heated at melting temperature of the solder material, and it is cooled. Segments are separated from the metal body. A steel body, preferably a steel tape is used as a metal body. The solder material contains additives such as bismuth, indium, zinc, antimony, iron, cobalt, nickel or rare earth metals.
