The roller has a color roller (4) with a fixed roller core (5), where a roller support (6) made of an elastically deformable absorbent material e.g. foamed plastic, surrounds the core. A cylindrical blind hole (11) arranged transverse to a rotary axis (8) is provided at a front side of the core. A round bearing pin (15) is provided at a side of cover plates (14) facing the color roller, and is engaged in the hole. A radius of the hole is larger than that of the pin such that the plates are movable against each other opposite to the color roller about a maximum of a difference of the two radii.
