#CMT# #/CMT# The device has a reed-contact-assembly (20) consisting of a reed contact (22) and a permanent magnet (24). The permanent magnet is arranged in a vicinity of the reed contact so that the permanent magnet maintains the reed contact in a closed condition. Another permanent magnet (30) and the reed-contact-assembly are positioned together so that the magnetic field of the former permanent magnet or the magnetic field acting at contact elements (22a) of the reed contact is compensated and the reed contact is switched to an open condition. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Switching device for switching a reed contact between an open condition and a closed condition. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The device switches the reed contact to the open condition without additional electronic components, thus allowing the device to open the reed contact without quiescent current.
