The squeegee (9) has an elongated body (10) with a hollow ring (11) deformed during wiping a glass surface (21). A flexible plate (19) incorporates a rigid insert (24) slightly projecting from a rectangular profile of a lip (20) and including an end (25) contacting the surface. The ring is filled with an electrorheological fluid (26) that is solidified by applying an electric field such that the ring is prevented from deformation. The lip remains perpendicular to the surface. The insert is directly carried on the surface to eliminate, by scratching, a frost covering formed on the surface. The electrorheological fluid is constituted of solid conducting fibers or particles dispersed in an insulating dielectric liquid e.g. mineral or petroleum oil. The fibers or particles are formed of vegetable, mineral or metallic composites such as starch or silica gel, combined with other natural polymers and covered with a metallic layer such as nickel layer.
