Disclosed is a resin composition comprising a hydride of a norbornene monomer ring-opening polymerization polymer and a polyolefin at a (hydride of the norbornene monomer ring-opening polymerization polymer)/(polyolefin) ratio of 10/90 to 80/20 by weight, wherein the hydride is produced by the hydrogenation of 80% or more of carbon-carbon double bonds in a ring-opening polymerization polymer that is produced by the ring-opening polymerization of 2-norbornene or a monomer mixture comprising 2-norbornene and a substituent-containing norbornene-type monomer, which contains a repeating unit (A) derived from 2-norbornene at an occurrence ratio of 90 to 100 wt% relative to the total amount of all repeating units, which contains a repeating unit (B) derived from the substituent-containing norbornene-type monomer at an occurrence ratio of 0 to 10 wt% relative to the total amount of all repeating units, and which has a melting point of 110 to 145°C. Also disclosed is a film produced by using the resin composition. It becomes possible to provide a film having an excellent barrier property against water vapor and excellent mechanical properties including tensile elongation at break under the high-temperature/high-humidity environment. |
