A backlight unit of a display device is provided to minimize the light loss by forming a plurality of reflecting plates in a reflecting plate array. A backlight unit comprises a light source(100), and a reflecting plate array(120). The reflecting plate array has a plurality of reflecting plates(120a~120i) which reflect light from the light source to a light guide plate(110). The backlight units are placed at least two planes of the light guide plate. The backlight unit comprises a light diffusing plate.
