A rotary steerable drilling system (RSS) is provided with a battery 30 for supplying power to the actuators or pistons of the steering system. The bi-stable actuators may be electrically controlled and the battery may be rechargeable. The battery may also be used to supply power to other downhole equipment such as communication equipment. The drilling system may be a hybrid type system. |
