A button type multistage stick for mountain climbing is provided to easily couple the button to the locking hole by automatically inserting a pressed button into a locking hole of an outer connecting pipe, thereby maintaining a locking state of the button. A button type multistage stick for mountain climbing comprises: an outer connecting pipe(101) to which a fixed cap(103) is connected, and which has a locking hole(102) formed in an outer peripheral surface thereof; an inner connecting pipe(111) which is inserted into the outer connecting pipe, and of which length is adjustable; a support(122) which is connected to a top part of the inner connecting pipe, and on which a squeezing cap(121) is formed to squeeze an inner peripheral surface of the outer connecting pipe; and a button(127) appeared or disappeared through a through hole(112) and inserted into or separated from the locking hole of the outer connecting pipe to perform a locking or unlocking operation by elastic force of an elastic member(126) elastically installed in a grooved space(123) within the support.
