<p>The invention relates to a method and apparatus for measuring the degree of fullness of a pulpwood barking drum. The supply end of a drum (1) is illuminated with a light fixture (2), and a camera (3) is used for imaging through the drum. A dark area (4) visible in the image is interpreted as a pulpwood -loaded section of the drum, and an area (5) visible in illumination is interpreted as a void space. Thus obtained is true degree-of-fullness information regarding the drum, and a consistent degree of fullness can be maintained.</p> |
