摘要 A cathode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery is provided to improve the chemical stability by suppressing the bonding of particles and to ensure high-capacity and rechargeable cycle characteristic. A cathode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery comprises composite oxide particles at least including lithium(Li) and cobalt(Co); a coating layer consisting of oxide including at least one coating element selected from lithium(Li), nickel(Ni) and manganese(Mn), which is installed at, at least a part of the surface of composite oxide particles; and a surface layer consisting of oxides including at least one element selected from lantanoids, which is installed at, at least a part of a coating layer.
