A method and an apparatus for performing a related task on a multi-core processor are provided to prevent unnecessary access to a main memory while performing related tasks, thereby improving performance of a system. At least one related task is performed in a multi-core processor including a plurality of cores. A method for performing a task comprises the steps. It is determined whether data and address information requested for performing the task are loaded in respective cores in the multi-core processor. The respective cores in the multi-core processor simultaneously initiate tasks based on the determination result.
