A refrigerator with a capacitive deionization water softener and a control method thereof are provided to prevent environmental pollution without any additional device for water recycling. A capacitive deionization water softener(120) generates soften water from raw water to send the same to a supply-water feeding part(50), and has a recycled water discharge part for discharging recycled water to a drain pipe of the refrigerator if the softener carries out recycling procedure.
