[PROBLEMS] An electrostriction actuator module having sufficient strength, load bearing characteristics, and drive force in the vertical direction. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] When a predetermined voltage is applied to conduct electricity between an electrode (12) and an electrode (13), an electrostriction actuator element (10A) elongates in the direction in which the area of the element increases. When this occurs, the distance (L) between facing ends (21a, 21b) of an elastic deformation member (20A) decreases to displace the position of a top section (1a) of a module (1A) upward (Z1 direction). Further, when the electrical conduction is interrupted, the electrostriction actuator element (10A) tries to return to the original state, and this causes the top section (1a) to displace toward the lower original position. Because the electrostriction actuator element (10A) and the elastic deformation member (20A) are set to a state where tensile force is previously applied between them, the electrostriction actuator element can have sufficient strength, load bearing characteristics, and drive force in the vertical direction when it deforms. |
