A METHOD FOR PREPARATION OF MONO-HALOGENATED ETHYLENE CARBONATE

A preparation method of mono-halogenated ethylene carbonate is provided to facilitate the keeping and handling of the materials used and to be suitable for the mass production due to less by-products and simple refining process. A preparation method of chloroethylene carbonate comprises (a) a step for manufacturing the mixed solution by mixing ethylene carbonate and carbon tetrachloride; (b) a chlorination step for injecting Cl2 gas to the mixed solution and light-irradiating it with a halogen lamp; (c) a step for removing carbon tetrachloride; and (d) a step for obtaining the chloroethylene carbonate by using the distillation under reduced pressure. The chlorination reaction step maintains the mixed solution in a range of 55-60‹C.
