Wireless communication receiver with diversity combining and re-training and method thereof

A distributed control and re-training mechanism for a communication receiver using diversity is provided. The quality of each diversity branch is monitored individually, and each branch can retrain itself without interacting or exchanging information with other branches. The activities of each diversity branch do not disrupt the output of the combiner, and each branch automatically recovers from abnormity. Therefore, the maximal diversity combining gain can be maintained.
