A suspension harness comprises a plurality of strap portions and an attachment member <B>4</B> being provided on the harness for connection to a rope or safety line, the attachment member <B>4</B> being adjustably mounted on the harness, whereby, in use, the vertical position of the attachment member 4 with respect to the centre of gravity of a wearer can be varied. The harness may comprise a belt portion <B>2</B> and two leg portions <B>3</B> which extend around the thigh of a wearer. The attachment member <B>4</B> may be mounted on connection portions <B>5, 6</B> extending between the belt portion and the first and second leg portions.
