A counterweight (8) is placed behind a rotation frame (6), and an engine (9) extending in the left-right direction is placed in front of the counterweight (8). On the left of the engine (9) is a heat exchanger (12), and on the left of the heat exchanger (12) is a left side door (17). An air cleaner (24) is provided in an air cleaner chamber (19) surrounded by the counterweight (8), the left side door (17), and the heat exchanger (12). A body (25) of the air cleaner (24) has an opening (25A) provided so as to face the left side door (17) and into which a filter element (26) is inserted and pulled out. Maintenance of the air cleaner (24) can be performed by simply opening the left side door (17) and pulling the filter element (26) out of the opening (25A) of the body (25) toward the worker.
