NONWOVEN FABRIC AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

A liquid-permeable nonwoven fabric which enables a body fluid to permeate the fabric without spreading beyond a spot area. The nonwoven fabric (1) comprises 100-30 wt.% essential composite fibers (2) of the core-sheath structure which each is constituted of a high-melting resin as a core component and a low-melting resin as a sheath component. In a section parallel to the machine direction (MD) for the nonwoven fabric (1), the essential composite fibers (2) extend in the machine direction (MD) while waving in the thickness direction (TD) for the nonwoven fabric (1). In a section parallel to the cross direction (CD), the composite fibers (2) extend in the thickness direction (TD) and have an average fiber angle of 75 degrees or smaller. The essential composite fibers (2) crossing each other are bonded to each other by melting the low-melting resin as the sheath component.
