The invention relates to a building system. The system comprises a plurality of elements including one of more beam members (100, 100', 122, 122') and, optionally, connectors (950), panels, filling elements, sealing elements, fixing elements and so on. The elements (100, 100', 122, 122', 950) include first formations, such as protrusions (114, 124, 142, 961, 962), and/or second formations, such as depressions (118, 120, 130, 144), which complement the first formations. The first formations (114, 124, 142, 961, 962) are configured to co-operate with the second formations (118, 120, 130, 144) of another element to allow the assembly of elements in one of a number of configurations without the need for traditional fixing means. Where provided, connectors (950) may be formed of a resilient material to allow them to be clipped into and/or onto the beam members (100, 100', 122, 122'). Such an assembly may, if required, be reinforced by pouring settable material, such as concrete, to fill the spaces between beam members (100, 100', 122, 122'). The beam members (100, 100', 122, 122') may be made from any one of a variety of materials, including recycled material, and may be include a visual indication of their properties or intended purpose. |
