<p>The invention provides a chlorine-containing pyrotechnic composition which comprises a binder, an oxidator, a pyrotechnic fuel, and a colourant comprising a metal salt of 5-aminotetrazole. The invention further relates to a firework article comprising such a pyrotechnic composition. In addition, the invention provides a method for preparing said colourant.</p>
