A device for demountable mounting of video display monitors on the inside surface of a vehicle roof comprises a video display monitor 2 having a pivot bar 4 at or near its upper, in use, end, the pivot bar 4 extending transversely of the video display monitor and one or both of the ends 4a, 4b of the pivot bar 4 projecting from the side of the video display monitor 2 and having a noncircular shape. A mounting support 1 is fixed to the inside surface of a vehicle roof, in use, and has a socket or cradle 3 to receive the pivot bar end 4a, 4b, whereby the video display monitor 2 may be pivoted about the pivot bar 4 to move between stowed and deployed pivotal positions, the pivot bar end 4a, 4b when fitted in place to the fixed mounting support 1 being held in the socket or cradle 3 against rotation during movement of the video display monitor 2 between stowed and deployed pivotal positions. A release lever 6 causes the pivot bar 4 to pivot relative to the cradle 3 to turn to a pivotal position where the pivot bar end 4a, 4b may be withdrawn from the cradle 3 to demount the video display monitor 2 from the fixed mounting support 1. |
