The device (1) has a base plate for adjusting a dial gauge, where one end of the plate is fitted with a connecting part (3) and another end of the plate is provided with a receiving part (4) for the dial gauge. The base plate has two parallel bars (6-1, 6-2) and a cantilever beam (7), which is provided between the bars and extends into the base plate. The bars and the cantilever beam are connected to the connecting part. An adjusting screw (9) is guided through a bore (10) in the upper bar and through a threaded bore, which is provided within the cantilever beam. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for production of a adjustable holding device for a dial gauge (2) a data medium in which a software program is stored to execute a method for production of a adjustable holding device for a dial gauge.
