DRIED CITRUS PEELS AS AN ABSORBENT CARRIER FOR COMMERCIAL ANIMAL FEED ADDITIVES

Particles of untreated citrus byproduct consisting of dried citrus peels and pulp can be used to absorb certain useful liquid animal feed additives up to 125 of the dried peel's weight, thereby acting as an effective and efficient absorbent carrier. Stated another way, a citrus peel / liquid animal feed mix may be produced which contains up to 55 by weight liquid animal feeds, with only a 45 by weight, citrus peel carrier. The resulting mixtures are an effective and easy handling means to introduce desired commercial animal feed additives into animal feeds with a carrier that has good palatability to livestock and poultry. These mixtures are dry and free flowing.
