The invention relates to a piston power plant and to variants thereof. The inventive plant is designed in the form of a four-stroke four-cylinder internal combustion engine (1) with an electric generator (2), which is mounted on the same shaft, and a gas distribution mechanism comprising intake (10) and drain (11) valves which are coupled to a channel (5) for supplying a working agent to the cylinder chambers and to an exhaust emission channel (6), respectively. The rotor (3) of the generator (4) is used as a flywheel of the internal combustion engine. Compressed gas contained in a separate tank (7) or supplied from an independent compressed gas producing system is used as a working agent. In the gas distribution mechanism, the chamber of each cylinder of the piston (13) communicates with atmosphere during the intake and compression strokes and the intake valve (10) is designed in such a way as to inject the compressed gas during the combustion stroke when the piston (13) in the chamber is at the top dead center and when it moves to the lower dead center, and the drain valve (11) in the piston chamber is embodied in such a way as to drain the gas from the chamber during the return stroke of the piston (13) at the back stroke.
