DIGITAL BROADCASTING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PROCESSING DATA IN DIGITAL BROADCASTING SYSTEM

A digital broadcasting system and a method for processing data in the digital broadcasting system are provided to encode mobile service data additionally to transmit the data to a receiving system, thereby improving receiving performance of the receiving system. A signal receiving unit receives a broadcast signal including an RS frame comprised of plural MPH service data packets and a main data service data. Each MPH service data packet is comprised of an MPH header of M bytes including identification information and payload of N-M bytes. An decoding unit(6002) decodes data of the RS frame among the broadcast signal received from the signal receiving unit. A demultiplexer(6003) separates the MPH service data packet including an IP datagram of the mobile service data by referring to the MPH header of each MPH service data packet inside the RS frame decoded in the decoding unit. The demultiplexer outputs the IP datagram of the mobile service data from payload in the divided MPH service data packet.
