A device, system and method for detecting and reporting an explosive event 12, such as muzzle flash from a rifle. The device comprises radiation detection means 14 adapted to detect electromagnetic radiation produced by the explosive event and to generate a trigger signal upon detecting the radiation; and a warning output unit 18 adapted to output an acoustic warning signal in response to a trigger signal generated by the detection means. The device may therefore provide an acoustic warning of the occurrence of the explosive event at a local position before acoustic waves from the explosive event arrive at the local position. |
