Cosmetic use of a saccharide compound (I) or its salts or isomers to increase the mechanical resistance of keratinous fibers. X : -C(=O)-, -CH(NR1R2)-, -CH(R1)- or -C(=CH(R3))-; R1-R3H, OH or R; R : 1-20C alkyl, 1-20C polyfluoro or perfluoro-alkyl or 5-20C (alkyl)aryl (preferably phenyl or benzyl) (all optionally interrupted by 1-3 or more heteroatoms e.g. O, S, N or Si; and optionally substituted by -OR4, -SR4, NR4R5, COOR4, CONHR4, CN, halo, polyfluoro- or perfluoro-1-6C alkyl, 3-8C (hetero)cycloalkyl or 5-18C aryl); R4, R5H, OH, alkyl, acyl or 1-30C (preferably 1-12C) perfluoroalkyl or polyfluoroalkyl; S1monosaccharide or polysaccharide comprising up to 20 sugar units, in the form of pyranose and/or furanose and of series L and/or D (optionally substituted by a radical (CH2)-OR6), a free hydroxyl group and/or an optionally protected amino group, where a S1-C bond represents a C-anomeric bond; and R6H or 1-6C alkyl, by a grouping hydroxyl and/or a O-glycoside radical. An independent claim is included for a cosmetic process of treatment of the hair comprising the application of a composition of (I) on dry or wet hair, optionally followed by rinsing. |
