LOGISTICS SYSTEM AND METHOD WITH POSITION CONTROL

A logistics system (10) and a method are mounted on a vehicle (4) and utiliz e vehicle position control (8) for logistics operations, such as loading and unloading material to and from the vehicle (4). The position control can be GPS-based and/or based on linear movement of the vehicle (4), such as movement of a railcar (4) along a track (5). A computer-based position control subsystem (8) mounted on the vehicle (4) is connected to and operates vehicle-mounted components (40) for performing the logistics functions.
