In an electric contact material, a conductive base body is provided with a first layer composed of a noble metal having an arithmetic average roughness Ra=(A)mum or an alloy having a noble metal as a main component; and a second layer, which is arranged on an upper layer of the first layer and is composed of a noble metal having a film thickness of 0.001x(A)mum or more but not more than (A)mum or an alloy having a noble metal as a main component.
