An apparatus for coding data capable of semi-permanently usable and method thereof are provided to reduce a manufacture cost by not using a separate electronic circuit. An apparatus for coding data capable of semi-permanently usable comprises a signal input part(310), a surface acoustic wave encoder(320), and a signal output part(330). The signal input part converts an electric signal of a prescribed band frequency into a surface acoustic wave. The surface acoustic wave encoder encodes the surface acoustic wave according to an encoded signal. The signal output part outputs and converts an encoded surface acoustic wave into the electric signal.
