An image forming apparatus and a method thereof are provided to vary resistance value by the sorts of a paper, thereby outputting the latent image current efficiently and improving the display quality. An image forming apparatus(300) comprises an anti-static part(310), a controller, and a selection part(330). The anti-static part removes the remanent charge of the printing paper. The selection part attaches the anti-static part and ground terminal interval. The selection part is changed to the first resistance and the second resistance. The controller controls the operation of the selecting unit according to the printing paper property.
