In a corrugated waveguide of elliptical crosssection, the ratio of the eccentricities of the small and the large ellipses defined by, respectively, a cross-section bounded by a corrugation trough, and a cross-section bounded by a corrugation crest, lies between 1À025 and 1À075, the preferred value being 1À05. The guide is readily coilable, and the corrugations may be either of the bellows type, or formed by a continuous helical groove. |
