The bonnet has a skin (2) forming a visible side of the bonnet and a liner (1) forming a reinforcement that is in a form of a plate. The liner has a stair shaped section (Zc) in its central part to improve dampening of the central part of the bonnet in case of pedestrian impact. The section is provided on entire length of a connection between the liner and the skin. The liner has an inclined part (1b) that is inclined towards the skin and an edge (1c) that is arranged parallel to the skin for fixing the liner on the skin.
