METHOD FOR ACCOMPLISHING THE RANDOM ACCESS PROCEDURE IN LTE(LONG-TERM EVOLUTION) SYSTEM

A random access operating method in a mobile communications system is provided to provide control primitive for delivering the determined RACH type to a physical layer and to perform random access process and to allocate RACH resource in a physical layer. A RACH parameter from system information received from a base station is extracted. An RACH type is determined by using the extracted RACH parameter. A random access procedure is performed by using the determined RACH type. The random access procedure is performed by determining the determined RACH type by RRC layer of the mobile terminal and delivering the determined RACH type to the physical layer of the mobile terminal.
