The method involves obtaining current approximate pulviometric data for selected geographical area (ZE), and converting the approximate pulviometric data into expected data relative to height of precipitations. The data relative to height of precipitation in a catchment basin (BV) is established for the geographical area. An alarm condition is defined on the basis of the height data and a data relative to maximum height of precipitations. An alarm signal is generated when the alarm condition is verified.
