[PROBLEMS] To provide a display device which can be driven by a thin film transistor and has a high level of brightness. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] An inorganic luminescent layer (121) of low-voltage drive and a control transistor (105) are provided on a substrate (111). The voltage applied to the inorganic luminescent layer (121) is regulated by the control transistor (105). The inorganic luminescent layer (121) is strong against heat and damage and thus can be formed by sputtering. A method may be also provided in which a top emission-type display device and a bottom emission-type display device are provided on an identical substrate, and emitted light can be radiated from the same position. ® KIPO & WIPO 2009
