A large size crosshead diesel engine is provided to evade disadvantage disclosed from a design for a base plate and a stand. A large size crosshead diesel engine comprises a base plate(2) for housing a crank shaft(3) extended along an engine axle(31); a stand(5) including two exterior walls(4), arranged on the base plate; and a cylinder part(6) arranged on the stand in order to accommodate a cylinder. The base plate, the stand and the cylinder section are connected to each other through two tie rod(7) extended from the region of single wall supportive body(9), respectively. The supportive body comprises two slipping surface(10) supporting a slipping shoes(11) of a cross head(12). Two or more slipping shoes adjacent to each other are alternately supported against the engine axle in the supportive body.
