A method for performing handover and an apparatus therefore in a wireless network are provided to perform handover efficiently based on predetermined priority in wireless network of high frequency bandwidth. A priority list(143) records a priority. A handover controller(141) requests handover to the instrument. An apparatus having the highest priority of a priority list is a digital TV. A transceiver(160) transmits the network information to the apparatus performing hand over. The priority is determined based on whether to drive the apparatus on network as constant power.
