Disclosed is a method, apparatus and system for the remediation of contaminated soils, groundwater and water. A combination of reagents such as persulfate a nd ozone or persulfate, ozone and hydrogen peroxide may be used to enhance destruction o f organic contaminants. Reagents may be injected into the smear zone to trap and destr oy volatile compounds that may otherwise escape treatment.
