#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves modeling corrosion offering a value of a parameter representing intensity of the corrosion according to a time and a place of a metallic surface, which is made of zinc and galvanized steel and belongs to a motor vehicle body part. Thickness of the thin film electrolyte is offered as an input parameter for modeling the corrosion according to the time and the place on the metallic surface. Other input parameters for modeling the corrosion are chloride concentration, sulfate concentration, time of corrosion and temperature. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for estimating a corrosion of a metallic surface covered by a thin film electrolyte in a motor vehicle. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The thickness value of the thin film electrolyte is offered as the input parameter for modeling the corrosion according to time and place on the metallic surface, thus estimating the corrosion of the metallic surface covered by the thin film electrolyte in a satisfactory manner. The number and duration of the physical tests are reduced in an inexpensive manner. The method limits the corrosion of the metallic surface to avoid the damage of the material and to avoid structural modification and mechanical properties of metals. The method improves the life-duration of the metallic structures, and optimizes the design and anticorrosion performances on the vehicle. The method avoids degradation of mechanical performance of metallic parts and sheets while assuring rigidity of the vehicle and better road holding of the vehicle. |
