[PROBLEMS] To provide a method for treating ballast water by a membrane using a membrane module, which method can suppress the production of scale on a membrane surface with a simple equipment and thus can prevent fouling, and a membrane treatment apparatus. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] In a method for treating ballast water by a membrane using a membrane module and a membrane treatment apparatus, a membrane treatment tank (2) and a membrane module (1) installed within the tank are provided. The membrane module continues filtration while allowing stock water of the ballast water to flow into the membrane module (1).
