An apparatus for broadcast superposition and cancellation capable of utilizing down link power in multi-carrier wireless network, and method thereof are provided to increase spectrum efficiency by adaptively assigning a power in between a broadcast traffic and a unicast traffic. A base station(102) used in OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) wireless network communicates with a plurality of subscriber stations in a service area of the OFDM wireless network. The base station transmits a first OFDM symbol in a first time slot. The first OFDM symbol includes a plurality of first subcarriers. The first subcarrier overlaps a broadcast data which is transmitted to a plurality of subscriber stations and a unicast data which is transmitted to one or more selected subscriber station.
