The method involves estimating a minimal activation time (Taim) by estimating an indicated average torque. Injector (18) is initialized to a zero value of activation time (Ta), and the time is initialized to a minimal value. Verification is made that if a value of the torque produced by the controlled injection via the time (Ta) fills a preset condition. The value of the torque is incremented when the condition is not verified, and a value of the time (Taim) is increased when the condition is verified. Correction value is recorded in a correction cartography corresponding to a cylinder (4).
