<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological treatment method which can inhibit a deterioration in treatment efficiency occurring with time, and a biological treatment apparatus of which the treatment efficiency is inhibited from being deteriorated. <P>SOLUTION: The biological treatment method enables a biological treatment for treating water to be treated with mesophilic microorganisms while performing aeration by an aeration means by using a biological treatment tank accommodating the mesophilic microorganisms and the water to be treated, and the aeration means accommodated in the biological treatment tank in a state being immersed in the water to be treated, and equipped with aeration bodies of which the surface contact with the water to be treated has a plurality of vents for diffusing gas containing oxygen.
