<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in appearance and the generation of a rattle even if a wide variety of deformed-cross-section handrails are mounted on joints with the same cross-sectional shape in a handrail mounting portion. <P>SOLUTION: The connecting joint 3 has the circular-cross-section mounting portion 6b. The handrail 1 with a noncircular cross section has an outer peripheral surface provided with gap forming surfaces 2b-2d where a gap is formed between them and an inner peripheral surface of the mounting portion 6b when an end is fitted into the mounting portion 6 of the connecting joint 3. A spacer 4 provided between the handrail 1 and the connecting joint 3 is equipped with a base 10 which is fitted into the mounting portion 6b in the state of abutting on the end surface of the handrail 1, and gap fitting portion bodies 12a, 12b and 14 which are protrusively provided on the base 10 along the length direction of the handrail 1 and at a length equal in dimension to the depth of the fitting of the handrail 1 into the mounting portion 6b and which fill the gap between the gap forming surfaces 2b-2d of the outer periphery of the handrail 1 and the inner peripheral surface of the mounting portion 6b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
