PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately change the sound volume of a muffler according to the environmental condition of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The device includes a changing condition judging means for judging whether a condition of changing the sound volume of the muffler is established on the basis of the type of facilities around the vehicle and a muffler sound volume changing means for changing the opening of a regulating valve 50 disposed in an exhaust pipe when the muffler sound volume changing condition is established. Establishment of the muffler sound volume changing condition is judged on the basis of the type of facilities around the vehicle and the opening of the regulating valve 50 in the exhaust pipe is changed according to the type of facilities once the muffler sound volume changing condition has been established.
